Klein Constantia
Klein Constantia Vin de Constance 2016, South Africa - 1.5l
Pudding wine may be an acquired taste, but think carefully before passing up the opportunity to sample Klein Constantia Vin de Constance. Widely celebrated by enthusiasts as the world's finest sweet wine, the 2016 vintage strikes a perfect balance of dryness with a zest that bats away any concerns surrounding a cloying aftertaste. A nose of ginger, marmalade and honeysuckle gives way to a deep, full body that offers notes of citrus against exotic fruits, cinnamon and hints of French vanilla, offering a welcome acidity to combat any risk of saccharine. The finish, meanwhile, is lengthy and moreish, ensuring that you'll be sure to reach for a second and third glass after an initial taste is concluded. Vin de Constance remains one of just three wines from the Southern hemisphere listed by celebrated industry expert David Cobbald in his book The Great Wines and Vintages, and it's easy to see why.
GRAPE
Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains
WHAT IT GOES WITH

ABOUT THE VINEYARD
The history of Constantia wine dates back to 1652, when Jan van Riebeeck, maiden Commander of the Dutch East India Company, arrived in Cape Town and planted vines in the territory. By the end of the 17th Century, the brand was established by Simon van der Stel, who expanded the growing terrain and earned glowing feedback for his wine production. Constantia made its way to Europe in the 18th and 19th Centuries, when it became a firm favourite of Prussian royalty and Napoleon Bonaparte, while it was namechecked in literary works of Alexandre Dumas, Charles Dickens, and Jane Austen. Klein Constantia was created in 1824 and remains the gold standard in dessert wine, winning countless awards and enjoying the distinction of service at royal functions at Buckingham Palace.

A wooden box can make your magnum look even more special, especially if you want to personalise it for a gift. We can engrave up to 50 characters, in one of five different fonts, to the front of the wooden box.
We always intend to despatch any orders on the same day, on a next day delivery service, assuming checkout is completed before 1pm as this gives us enough time to prepare the package.
You can also track your order throughout the process, ensuring that you’re home to accept it or make alternative arrangements with DPD.
If ordering as a gift, please provide the recipient’s address and a contact telephone number so they are notified a delivery is coming. While the arrival of a magnum will surely be a welcome surprise, we want to ensure somebody is available to sign for the package. We’ll keep you updated about the delivery progress, and supply a purchase invoice that doubles as a receipt for your financial records to your email address. We never include an invoice with the package in case it is a gift.
We rarely need to process returns, but in the improbable event that we need to do so, we will offer a full refund on any product returned in its original packaging and in a re-sellable condition. Unfortunately we cannot refund shipping costs.
