Gilles and Nathalie Fèvre

Chablis Fourchaume, Gilles & Nathalie Fèvre 2018, Chablis, France - 1.5l

£69

If you're seeking a chablis that's as refreshing as it is dry, you've come to the right place. From the moment the scent of citrus fruit and butter floods the senses upon uncorking this wine, you'll be aware of what to expect. The acidity of the wine is medium to light, and bitterness kept to a minimum. The taste sensation on the palate offers a combination of grapefruit, lemon, yoghurt and grass, with a hint of toast. Impeccably balanced, and offering a lingering salty finish on the palate, this is the perfect wine for sipping atop a terrace while the sun sets.

ABOUT THE VINEYARD

If you ever doubt the value of further education, consider that Gilles and Nathalie Fèvre met during their mutual university studies in the art of oenology. A shared passion for all things wine led to more than a marriage; it resulted in the eventual running of Domaine Gilles et Nathalie Fèvre in Chablis. Dividing and conquering duties, alongside other family members – daughter Julie has joined the family business – the Fèvre clan have been in the wine industry for over a hundred years. The upshot is vineyard that covers over 50 hectares, and has earned a reputation as one of the finest, most reliable winemakers in France.
